Fínikounda
is one of those magical Greek destinations. An original, unspoilt
hideaway that remains un-crowded, even in high season. It has a fabulous
sandy beach, and a tiny harbour with brightly painted fishing boats.
There are a dozen or so tavernas, most of which serve freshly caught fish and traditional Greek dishes. There are a couple of bars and tourist shops, but this really is a resort to sit back with a good book, leave your worries behind and enjoy the Greek hospitality and slow pace of life.

If
you are looking for that "typically Greek", original and unspoilt getaway that
your friends have never heard of Finikounda is for you. It has a fantastic sandy
beach which is uncrowded, even in high summer, its popularity extends to the
Greeks themselves. It has a small harbour and a dozen or so taverna's (try a
different one each day) offering freshly caught fish and traditional Greek
dishes. Finikounda also has a few tourist shops and some friendly bars, for
those with a sweet tooth, it also boasts a sticky cake shop.

With
stunning, unspoilt scenery, warm Greek hospitality and a very slow pace
of life, Finikounda is the place to go for a sociable and relaxing
holiday. Discover the wonderful south west Peloponnese. A fertile
farming area blessed with fantastic long, wide sandy beaches.
Fínikounda, located on the tip of the Messinia peninsula, is a pretty fishing village with a friendly atmosphere and bundles of Greek character. The harbour front is home to traditional tavernas offering menus determined largely by the catch of the day. Here your lunch or evening meal is a leisurely affair - with such a slow pace of life it is impossible not to relax and unwind.
Further afield there are many beautiful, historic towns and villages to explore. Methoni is a historic fortress town dominated by a large castle. Another nearby town is Kóroni, where the atmospheric, narrow winding streets are home to beautiful old houses and quaint shops selling local produce and works of art produced by local artists.

is one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Greece. It is located
in a beautiful sheltered bay built almost at the point where the wave
lap at the shore. It nestles in a lee anchorage opposite the Islet of
Shciza. Caiques and fishing boats moor in the shelter of its harbour and
anchor all along its sandy shore. The seafront is lined with tavernas
serving their freshly caught fish.
Fínikounda is famed for its excellent sea and the town has a golden sandy beach with shallow azure waters ideal for swimming. To the east just beyond the rocky jetty is Paradise beach. Anemomios beach to the west of Fínikounda is another popular beach with a broad stretch of golden sand and is back by wild sandunes. There are many other excellent beach nearby to explore.
Every Year the Municipal beaches are awarded the European Blue Flag. Fínikounda also offers water sport such as wind surfing and sailing in the summer season.
